CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION PRESENTER

Carol Dickson: Parent/Family & Community Partnership

Carol Dickson, CDE

                                 Biography for Carol Dickson

Carol Dickson is an education programs consultant for the Title I Programs and Partnerships Office of the California Department of Education. She has worked for eight years at the state level in the area of school, family, and community partnerships (also known as parent/family involvement).

Research continues to show that school, family, and community partnerships positively impact student achievement. Given the California and national educational goal for all students to reach proficiency on grade-level standards by 2014, these partnerships have taken on new importance for educators.

Carol facilitates the development and implementation of comprehensive and sustainable systems for school, family and community partnerships that enhance student achievement in California schools.

California Title I Parents have never met anyone who has worked so hard on the road to promote  family, school, community partnership as much as Carol Dickson.

Many times, people at the state level do not get recognized for doing a great job.
Job well done for Carol Dickson of the Title I, Partnership Office.

The California Title I Parents publicly thank Carol Dickson for her dedication and hard work in training parents, teachers, administrators and  community, and organizations  on the importance of education partnership.

Please visit the conference review page for feedbacks on Carol Dickson training.

California Title I Parents had an opportunity to meet Carol Dickson at the first annual Title I parent training conference in San Diego, February 2007.

Carol Dickson is steadfast and committed to monitoring schools, districts and ensuring that they are  in compliance with parent involvement according to the law.

California Title I Parents understand that schools can't do it alone.  For that reason, we are giving Carol Dickson a platform Statewide, to train parents, teachers, and administrators about the importance of parent involvement and abiding by the policy that it governs.

When you attend the California Title I Parent Training Conference Tour...you can expect to learn about the school/district compact policy and parent involvement policy according to the law.

There is nothing boring about Carol Dickson.  She will keep you on the edge of your seat in anticipation.

Please bring a copy of your parent/school/district compact for a training tool.
